Mission
The Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology (PPGCTA) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) is a consolidated program of academic excellence and research, dedicated to training high-level human resources. Offering Master’s and PhD courses, the program’s central mission is not only to train qualified professionals for higher education and scientific research but also to serve as an engine of innovation for the region.

History
The tradition of food research at UFC began in 1958 with the creation of the Rural Technology Institute linked to the former School of Agronomy. The Master’s Course was formally established in 1975, while the PhD program began in 2009.
