Prof. Lucicléia Barros de Vasconcelos Torres

She holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from the State University of Paraíba (2001), a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Campina Grande (2004), and a PhD in Agronomy from the Federal University of Paraíba/Université D’Avignon (2011). She has experience in chemistry, with an emphasis on food and bioactive compounds, working mainly on the following topics: development of plant-based products; quality, composition, conservation, and post-harvest physiology of plant products; and biodegradable food packaging and coatings. She coordinates several extension projects related to food security, family farming, and support for micro and small enterprises in the agri-food sector. Currently, she is a member of the Ceará Academy of Sciences and an Associate Professor in the Food Engineering course at the Federal University of Ceará in Fortaleza. She is the author of thirteen patent applications, including two granted patents, and another technology transfer, followed by licensing.
